Lab exchange program

Purpose: CSV is offering an opportunity for CSV trainee members (M.Sc., Ph.D. or PDFs) to offset the cost of travel for the purposes of research collaborations and/or technique-driven training between CSV Member labs.

Deadline for Applications: April 1, 2024
Notification of Results: May 1st, 2024

Who is eligible?

  • CSV trainee members (M.Sc., Ph.D. or PDFs)
  • Graduate students (M.Sc. or Ph.D.) must be enrolled full-time at a Canadian University
  • Applicants must be a CSV member at the time of application
  • The primary PI of the applicant (acting as principal supervisor for M.Sc., Ph.D. or PDF) and the recipient lab PI must be CSV members (exceptions will be handled on a case-by-case basis).

What can be funded?

  • Research topic of the applicant must be linked to virology
  • Research or technique-driven training to be pursued in partner lab must be linked to the respective research focus of the applicant
  • This opportunity should clearly improve the research conducted by the applicant

Value:
Travel allowance (economy class travel to and from the partner institution) and accommodation allowance up to $1000.00 CAD (total). Award will be provided in the form of reimbursement upon presentation of the receipts.

Selection Procedure:

  • Eligible applications will be evaluated and selections will be made by the CSV Lab exchange committee which will be composed of members of the CSV executive.
  • If awarded, the scholarship is valid for one year as of the date of announcement of the results.
